Video Premiere: OIKOS “Menace and Portent”

OIKOS are a band that has captivated us time and again with their gorgeous ambient drone, and their latest release, The Great Upheaval, via Knocturne Records/Envelope Collective, is another stunning sonic masterpiece. The record came out just a couple of weeks ago, and it’s haunting tones have become a part of my regular listening cycle since. Today we’re honored to be premiering the video for one of the tracks off this album, “Menace and Portent,” created by Edgar Soberon. The visuals take OIKOS’ sound from one of melancholy longing to an almost apocalyptic place, a disaster that I can’t look away from, the human struggle to carve an existence out on an essentially hostile planet. Check out the “Menace and Portent” video below and make sure to pick up The Great Upheaval here on digital, or here / here on vinyl and CD.
