I feel so fucking blessed to be alive right now because I get the chance to write about the SICKEST Death Metal records created in the past decade! The record I’m speaking of is Tetragrammacide’s Typho-Tantric Aphorisms From The Arachneophidian Qur’an which is out now via Iron Bonehead Productions. Over the course of 11 dense, intense, and swirling tracks this band shows the world that there is no other band like them in the universe!
From the opening ritual, “Trans-linguistic Utterance Of A Sacred Orgasmal Cry Fills The Lemurian Sky (By The Same Mouth, One True God Crieth Hriliu),” the listener is brought into their sphere of creativity! Then the second song, “Spectral Hyaenas Of Amenta Howl, The Vulture Of Ma’at Descends, And Tahuti Watches Without His Ape,” opens your 3rd eye and you look into the profane portal of nothingness! What strikes me about Tetragrammacide is that I feel like they channel the song structures on this album. Meaning, at no point do I feel that anything about this offering is contrived or overthought! This band creates organic pits of feral ritualistic sonic hatred. As I listen to Typho-Tantric Aphorisms From The Arachneophidian Qur’an, I realize that their songs are layered expressions of audio torment that should be felt more than studied! Just as much as I hear all out war as I blast “Mandelbrot Scarab Of Fractal Manifestation Trapped In The Arachnid Webs, Spun Above The Hidden Pathways Into Non-Euclidean Interbetweenness,” I also feel total transcedental mind-altering bliss.
Tetragrammacide’s new record will be studied by humans as a way to look to the past while guiding them to their unknown future! Imagine if Salvador Dali created a Death Metal album — the outcome would sound like this album! This band has the creative courage to trust themselves to create their art from a place that only they can enter! Tetragrammacide is very aware of how their art reflects them to the fullest.
