I’m only just now discovering the shoegaze, krautrock, and post punk splendour of FAZI. Started in 2010 in Xiโan, China, FAZI has a long history in the post-punk revival, with five full-lengths under their belts to date. Their record Folding Story was released first on Chinese label Space Circle in 2022, and it’s now getting a European release on January 26th via Pelagic Records โ pre-order it here. Today we’re honored to be premiering the film they made to accompany their Pelagic release. It’s meditative, visually stunning, and sonically brilliant. Their sound is gentle but also huge, expanding through my ears and taking my subconscious mind on a captivating journey. I can’t understand the lyrics, but I can feel them translating into emotions deep in my chest. I love it when bands expand into other art forms with the same respect they give their music.
