I have to keep it 100% REAL — the new JUICE album Festival of Fools that comes out on July 12th via WAR Records slaps hard AF! Their sound takes me back to 1983 when I saw our hometown squad Suicidal Tendencies perform War Inside My Head for the first time and we all lost our shit! Everything about JUICE’s new record is on point from the scathing HUGE Breakdowns to the Lyrics to the Chunky Riffs and the we don’t give a fuck attitude that this band exemplifies from the first song “Victim Of The Psychic War.” I want to salute everyone who made this record possible because the world needs to hear tunes like this. JUICE has something to say and I’m all fucking ears and so should you be as well! Festival of Fools is an album that is 777% killer and no fucking filler. We have been honored to share a track-by-track breakdown from two of the members below.
JUICE Festival Of Fools
Track by Track Breakdown (Tony & Rob):
“VICTIM OF THE PSYCHIC WAR“
T: I was in the 4th grade when 9/11 happened. I remember the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan being broadcast on every screen. A million dead. Thousands tortured for no actionable intelligence. 20 years. All for what? Drug smuggling Navy Seals and a total information domestic surveillance program. Bunch of young men and women sent to die for what?
“WW3“
T: I saw a Aldo Moro memorial when I was in Italy. Did you know Steve Pizcenik who was sent by the US to negotiate the release of Aldo Moro is a frequent guest on InfoWwars? He is also a Ghost writer for Tom Clancy.
Did you know Jospeh Mengele, who angel of death was written about, passed through a German settlement in Chile that supplied weapons and tortured people for the Pinochet regime?
The game is cold.
R: This is one of the first ones cooked up for the album, at least of the new batch of songs. When I joined Juice I found they loved a dramatic opener so I set out to make a song that had a lot of mood. I’m also a big fan of coda.
“TERROR UNIT“
T: One time this Somalian guy I know was walking by me with a book in his hand. I asked him “what’s the book about?”
He flipped it around and it was Osama Bin Laden on the cover and he said “A Real Nigga.”
“DRUG GAME“
T: Did you know the same people who organized the Bay of Pigs were caught flying heroin and cocaine into the United States? They were later caught trying to tap the DNC offices at the Watergate hotel and were in Dallas the day JFK was shot.
R: Jeff and I jammed this one out randomly. I hopped on the guitar and we just spontaneously organized the opening riff. He’s very good and intuitive to play with. It’s interesting that such a short song incorporates tight thrash chugs, a no warning riff, with and ending you’d expect from a certain bay area heavy hardcore band named after a displacement of water.
“FESTIVAL OF FOOLS“
T: I remember when we were in High School my good friend’s dad was approached to join the Freemasons. It really tripped us up because at the time we were really into getting high and watching videos about Denver Airport or the Illuminati or whatever.
Over the years, I’ve had friends fall into psychosis. It’s strange how it always manifests the same. One of the guys sent me a message a couple years ago about how he bought a $3000 membership into the Illuminati and his life was about to turn around. I hope he’s doing ok.
“ADRENOZONE“
T: I saw a guy make a joke the other day: “What comes first, the billion dollars or the pedophilia?”
R: Think Biohazard meets Celtic Frost.
“DEMONS“
T: What came first ? Being 110 pounds then starting a band that sounds like Neos or Necros or the other way around ? Either way, Integrity is the greatest hardcore band of all time.
“SATANIC PIMP“
T: I work in supportive housing in the Vancouver equivalent of skid row. This girl gets really high and starts talking in a low demon voice from behind her door. Started saying shit like, “ya little girl you like that?” Someone told me she did that on the regular.
Reminded me of girls growing up brainwashed by some freak and forced into tricking for pennies. I fucking hate a pimp.
“NUCLEAR MELODY“
T: The thing apocalyptic movies get wrong is most areas in America and Canada would be uninhabitable because of nuclear fallout. After a week or two of inactivity, nuclear power plants start to leak radiation, if not explode. That’s what I read once, anyway.
R: An old song that needed to see the light of the day. Out of this world heavy, this song shows off the bands versatility of groove.
“MURDER“
T: This guy I knew was pretty much indebted for life to some guys because he fucked up a pack once. They would have him work off the debt, but charge interest that was so high it wasn’t feasible for him to work it off. They would give him like 4 ounces for the day, but it would weigh out to like 2. He disappeared one day, I don’t know if he tried to do the dash or … you know. The game is cold.
