1950s Housewife on LSD – for Research Purposes

Just to inspire your weekend – here’s some archival footage from 1956 of a woman who tries LSD for scientific research. She trips the fuck out. Dr. Sidney Cohen was conducting experiments at Veterans Administration Hospital in LA, focused on mental health issues. “I can’t tell you about it. If you can’t see it, you’ll just never know it,” she tells Dr. Cohen. “I feel sorry for you.”

Living in the shadow of grizzly bears, cougars and the other predators of the wilderness taught her about the dark side of nature, and taught her to accept her place in nature's order as their prey.
