The Story Behind the 4AD Aesthetic
23 Envelope Documentary
Now Showing

One label that has always remained a constant in my life is 4AD. Not only have I been a fan of their bands since the 80’s – like the Cocteau Twins, Bauhaus, Colorbox and This Mortal Coil – another thing that always intrigued me about this label is their design aesthetic. The documentary you are about to watch is called 23 Envelope and will shed light on the mystery that is the look of 4AD!

I have a CD copy of everything they’ve ever done, except some of those retrospective CDs and their collaboration with Harold Budd, which I love, but I do not own.
