The other day I was reflecting on how I lived my life 5 years ago when I shaved my head. It’s not an exaggeration to say I’m a completely different person today than when I walked into a friend’s barber shop and told him to take the burden of my almost waist-length hair off my head. It was the first step in shedding many life-long patterns in how I lived, how I treated myself, and who I surrounded myself with. Reading about the ideas of personal transformation that inspired TAKH‘s new self-titled record was like a sign that I’ve embarked on one of human life’s most difficult journeys and accomplished so much while on this path. This record is like that journey — at times it’s unsettling and scary, and at others, it radiates such unimaginable beauty. TAKH is streaming now and on vinyl via Consouling Sounds on May 26th — order it here. Today we’re honored to be sharing their new video for the track “Unabashed and Knowing” below.
Based on films such as The Sea of Trees, Infinity Pool, Apocalypse Now and You Were Never Really Here, the paintings of Bosch and the work of Jim Jarmusch we find themes that delve deeper into the various developments in a person’s life.

The question of how to deal with a new identity and of how it relates to the old one and its known environment are subjects that have found a place in the melancholic sound and lyrics on the album.
