I say this with my chest! I say this with a HUGE smile of Hardcore Punk bliss on my face! I say this to anyone willing to listen: don’t hang up, because SPAM CALLER’s new album Bad Connection out now via Phage Tapes is a fucking BANGER! If you know what’s up with CVLT Nation, then you know we have been fans of this band from day one, and this record only makes that even more of a reality! Throughout 9 gnarly AF tracks, this band spits out pure FLAMES!!! Blasting “Tick Tock Tick” is like watching DISCHARGE smoke on the HOAX pack, only to exhale Cadaver Dog fumes, and that will have you saying, damn, this band is the SHIT! They cut away all of the fat, so all we are left with is pure incendiary Hardcore Punk meat that will walk all over your reality!
On the vocal tip, I feel his visceral rage jumping into my eardrums. Musically, SPAM CALLER kicks out the jams with more force than Jim Kelly on the Black Fist side. What impresses me about SPAM CALLER is how they can manifest aggressive sonic clouds that rain down fury every second of Bad Connection. SPAM CALLER actually made the sickest song that Black Flag never made through the lens of rad D-Beat, and the name of the anthem is “No Decline.” Like I said earlier, I’m writing this with a huge smile on my face because I just turned y’all on to one of my favorite releases of 2025!
