Summer is upon us, and sadly that means that fans of punk, hardcore, metal, and everything inbetween will be forced to see pictures on social media of your cousin wearing some ridiculous outfit in a field somewhere at some shitty festival. It’s an unfortunate reality; more and more people are flocking to trendy locations to attend large festivals just for the sake of saying that they were there. Fuck the bands, some people just want to pay upwards of $400 so they can get more followers on Instagram and potentially find a stranger that will be willing to touch their genitals. Hey, if that’s what you have to do to forget about your shitty job or spouse, then by all means do it. We all need a break from reality from time to time. Sadly, punks and hardcore kids often times are left out of this summer festival fun. Not because they’re narrow minded and refuse to travel to see a mixed bill, but because they’re fucking broke and most of these large-scale festivals only book 3-4 bands worth traveling for in the first place. Luckily, that’s all about to change with the rebirth of California’s Sound and Fury. Its affordable, it’s in a trendy location (downtown LA, to be specific), and most importantly, its lineup is fucking loaded. To all the loyal disciples of CVLT Nation, this fest is practically catering to you!! We’re talking Nails, Full of Hell, Gag, Ceremony, American Nightmare, Freedom and even an after show featuring Taake, YAITW and Wolvhammer. Seriously, what are you doing still reading this?
