Do you ever feel like you want to…? That is the reigning sentiment of our age, the endless wanting and the melancholy void it opens in our souls. Some of us are eaten alive by it, others find a way to accept it, even ignore it, but we are ingrained with wanting from the time of our birth. Jozef van Wissem, baroque lutenist and composer, just released his album When Shall This Bright Day Begin via our comrades in avant-garde awesomeness, Consouling Sounds, and we are very happy to be premiering his new video for the third track off the album, “Detachment.” The video for “Detachment” is co-directed by Tom Jarmusch and Jozef van Wissem, and is a calming reminder for me that we build, and then we die, and everywhere we create monuments to longing. Ask yourself the question, and enjoy this visual sonic journey below…
