As one day bleeds into the next, sometimes I need reminding that the universe works on its own timing. That timing is mammoth, glacial, oceanic, universal, atomic…not the petty, insignificant years, days, seconds of humanity. I feel like this is what captured in the new video from Belgian sludge/post-rock band Pothamus for their track “Advaita.” Not that this song is slow, more that it’s epically languid in the most stunning way. It moves with reverence for the sounds it’s giving us. It signals a turning point for Pothamus, a pivotal moment on their timeline as a band. They’re getting ready to release their debut album via Consouling Agency in the coming months, so stay tuned here and here for their debut album coming soon! Right now, watch this video for “Advaita” and let yourself drift off into the present…
