Oakland’s heavy industrial group Lament Cityscape is ready to blast you out of your pathetic reality with The New Wet EP coming out January 31st (pre-order here). It’s the first in a series of three EP releases written and recorded by the band in 2017. The New Wet is the opening stages of a massive emotional transformation, and listening to these three tracks definitely feels like my chest cavity is being ripped open by mammoth sonic pulses. This isn’t music for the faint of heart – this is music for people who want sounds that will pull them out of reality and into another dimension of pain, suffering and catharsis. If that’s you, then listen to our full stream of The New Wet below…
The New Wet is the first of three EPs that deals with the emotional process of transformation. All three EPs were written and recorded in 2017 while I was in this space of not knowing what to do next with this project. Everyone in the band had moved to a different state and my personal life was transitioning in ways that were so new to me. It was a very confusing time. It definitely encompassed the entire spectrum of feelings.
