Sometimes I feel empowered by darkness, and within darkness is where there is light. madam data‘s most recent project The Gospel of the Devourer is out now via PTP. Over the course of 12 tracks, this project will drag your senses through a vortex of sonic torment that you have never experienced before. To call The Gospel of the Devourer heavy would be a gross understatement.
When I listen to these songs it reminds me of the pain my ancestors endured at the filthy hands of white supremacy. I begin to think how despite this, my ancestors were not victims because, through everything they endured, their power lives on through me and everyone who thinks like me! Listen to “but in the purple light of the heavy star a blow was struck, and we cursed our hands as they grew into talons, and sang out regret as we choked our enemies with our own entrails” and know that what you hear is the power of our ancestors through the audio lens of true power!
I’m beyond proud to share with y’all the new madam data visual “but in the purple light of the heavy star a blow was struck…”. The next time you think about one of the sickest releases of 2021 you better reference The Gospel of the Devourer.
