The fear of death silently accompanies our lives, but in the last moments on this earth, what we should really dread is the confrontation with ourselves.
– GHOSTHEART NEBULA
At the end of the day, before vanishing forever, the great truths will be revealed, with no exception for anyone.
In my adult lifetime, I’ve never experienced a greater collective fear of death than I am right now. All around me are systems struggling to maintain their stranglehold on us. People everywhere are running full speed away from the acceptance of their inevitable exit from this life. It’s absolutely, stunningly surreal, and all I can do to maintain my sanity is to remind myself that what really matters is how closely I’m aligned with my purpose here.
Today my purpose is contemplating the vastness of Ghostheart Nebula‘s death-doom post-rock chimera. And as their sonic tsunami lays waste to my synapses, I can’t help but think about the understanding that will come flooding to me when it’s my time to leave. Surrounded by death and birth, decay and flowering, and false promises of safety and security in exchange for my energy and money. Insuring my life until it’s clear I’m going to die when death was the only certainty from the first cell that divided into my body. When the only thing I need to ensure is that I’m grateful to have lived.
All of this and more is hidden in the twists and turns of Ghostheart Nebula’s unending blastbeats, mournful riffs, and corrosive vocals. Their first full-length album Ascension comes out on September 17th via Black Lion Records — pre-order it here. Today we’re excited to bring you a full stream of Ghostheart Nebula’s upcoming album…
