CVLT Nation Curated Mixtapes:

Today we’re excited to announce a new series of artist curated mixtapes, and we’re kicking off with spectacular Vancouver-based tattooist The Blvck Mamba. They’ve put together a playlist that you’re going to want on repeat, and after you’ve seen their tattoo work below you’re going to want to make your way over to the Sticks and Stones shop in Vancouver! Check out what The Blvck Mamba has to say and make sure to follow us on Spotify

Most of the time I spend listening to music lately is while I’m working at home.  It’s nice because I tend to utilize it as a means of meditation on the subject matter at hand. Doom and similar forms of aggressive music are wonderful in that they invoke the same feelings in me that I want my art to invoke in others.  Occultism, esoteric thought, sexuality, nature, and sonic conversations on mental/emotional health penetrate my art as an extension of myself, and the media I consume is no different.  The tracks collected here kind of act as a “subject matter greatest hits”, and I hope they give a little bit of insight into what kind of creative environment I thrive in.

Meghan MacRae grew up in Vancouver, Canada, but spent many years living in the remote woods. Living in the shadow of grizzly bears, cougars and the other predators of the wilderness taught her about the dark side of nature, and taught her to accept her place in nature's order as their prey.
