In 1977, a new kind of fetish magazine was revealed. It was called The Razor’s Edge: The Voice of Recreational Haircutting and it was women shaving their heads from cover to cover. From full heads of hair, to a zero on the clippers, to shaving cream and scalp gleam, The Razor’s Edge catered to the… men, let’s face it… who needed more bald women in their lives. I could only find one full issue, and I was curious about what kinds of features could be found in a bald women’s magazine. I stumbled across an auction page for original The Razor’s Edge issues, and here’s what could be found inside:
#1 Features Maggie McOmie starring in THX1138. “Our intention is to document all the myriad aspects of those women who are shaved to the scalp.”

#2 Features include Natalia Daryl starring in The Girl in the Kremlin, Yul Brenner’s daughter, Debbie Has A Haircut.
#3 Features Italia as Miss Bald America, Nefertiti and Five Branded Women.
#5 “Should Helen Sanger Shave?”
#6 Results of Helen Sanger Vote- 157 to 12 in favor of Helen shaving. Also, Finnish Water Babe Bares All, the “Cosmic Cut,” Pasha Bari’s headshave, Scalp on the Screen, Two Hot Tamales Take Short Cut to Success.
#8 “Diana Has A Haircut,” “Perverse Punk Princess,” and Elaine’s headshave.
The Razor’s Edge only ever had 12 issues published, so I guess the fetish was a little bit too niche. As a bald woman, I can’t help but appreciate the people who put together this magazine. I also enjoy a beautiful bald woman, and I hope you do, too!
