Dissolve Your Mind in the Post-Industrial Noise of YUKO ARAKI “†Sloshing (feat.Taichi Nagura)”

Kaori Murai

In times like these, I need the catharsis of noise that dissolves my brain in a vat of sonic acid. When all the world is on fire with rage and hate, I need to hear music that possesses me with electronic hums and caustic shrieks and binds my mind so it can’t hurt itself. YUKO ARAKI’s post-industrial is exactly what I need to be reminded that beyond the veil of propaganda lies the truth, and it’s a bloody, cold thing to behold. Today we’re premiering her track “†Sloshing” featuring vocals from Endon’s Taichi Nagura. It’s the final single off her new album IV that’s out via Room40 — pre-order it here.

It’s as if [Taichi Nagura] is trapped in this piece, fighting for and against the other materials in the sound. This tension captures, for me at least, the relationships I think are so powerful about making, and also listening to music.
