WTF the new GRAF ORLOCK record End Credits is awesome! I love how they unleash their fury on every fucking song! When songs like “Those Bastards in the Front Sections” kick in, you realize quickly that this band has something to say, and it’s time for us to listen closely! I dig the way that GRAF ORLOCK can manifest deep pits of feral unhinged audio angst while maintaining an insane groove! Over the years, the trajectory of Graf Orlock has always been one of complete commitment to an idea. Given this is the bands 13th overall release and final project in a 20 year “career,” the title of “End Credits” seems fitting to finish out a strict adherence to the “cinemagrind” ideology. The use of post-apocalyptic film acts as a commentary to the bleak world we live in as well as the final chapter in the band’s history, crashing and burning like a world flooded by rising tides or the oncoming and intensely unlivable megacities of the22nd century. Citing films like Children of Men, Waterworld and Dredd, there is no better way to look forward to diminishing human prospects than through the lens of ridiculous and aggressive contemporary pop culture. – Justin Smith
