On the harrowing release, Black Earth spew forth a mangled fog of black industrial nightmare fuel that will devour your synapses and leave you petrified in horror. Extremely abstract and grotesque, on the abominable work the Spanish mystifiers fuse drone in the vein of Sunn O))), dark ambient, raw black metal, ritual electronics, and industrial noise to open a portal to another dimension in which the listener is faced with a mirror reflecting back a deformed and disfigured reflection of their own self. As a ritual of perverse introspection, the music makes the listener fall backwards inside them selves, and instead of projecting outward, the album flows inward, and falls back into the consciousness, corrupting it and making it wilt like a infectious disease before it makes the soul implode and disintegrate.
It’s hard to find the appropriate “place”, “meaning”, or “purpose” for horrific exercises in aural evisceration like these, as they exist on a plane of abstraction, aberrance, and absurdity entirely their own, but get caught with this record in your headphones, alone in the dark with nothing but your most hidden fears in the room with you, and shit will come to life inside your head like you never could have thought possible.
