I’m pretty sure I have said before that Skateboarding and Punk are connected on so many levels. It makes total sense, because many of the kids that became a part of the 80’s hardcore scene also grew up in the 70’s reading Skateboader magazine while wearing OP shorts. Skateboarding is all about speed, just like 80’s hardcore was all about speed, plus they both represented youth culture to the fullest. The other day, I came cross this awesome tumblr called PUNK ROCK & SKATEBOARDING, which is full of rad photos that tie the scenes together. What I like about the site is that they have some early P-FUNK & Blues photos up, which were the godfathers of the whole punk scene both musically and visually.
