Watch Sludge Triumph Over Destruction! 30,000 MONKIES doc “The Making of Honesty Integrity Friendship Passion”

30,000 MONKIES put out their record Honesty Integrity Friendship Passion via Consouling Sounds last September — you can get it here. Four songs, “HONESTY,” “INTEGRITY,” “FRIENDSHIP,” and “PASSION,” make up this dissonant sludge opus that is alarming but also oddly postitive and uplifting. Today we’re stoked to be sharing this video of the making of their new album directed by Rik Chaubet, recorded as they recorded for the last time at their soon-to-be-demolished studio. FVN KVLT studios was a house in Beringen, Belgium, that was torn down in January 2021, and this was the last recording ever made in that doomed space. Check out the article they wrote about the album, “The Bee, The Bad, and The Beautiful,” in their 2nd issue of Monkies Mag that’s only available at their shows — and below.

In the winter of 2020 we recorded HONESTY INTEGRITY FRIENDSHIP PASSION at our own FVN KVLT headquarters, inspired by a Lil B lecture and in a race against the clock, since the cranes and battering rams were waiting outside, ready to demolish it all.

Director Rik Chaubet was there watching and filming our every move. The result is this small “making of.”
