If any of you happened to read my review of the last Tetragrammacide release Typhonian Wormholes, you know just how incredibly floored I was by what I will continue to call one of the most chaotic, ruthless, battering audial experiences of my life. Needless to say, I have waited with bated breath for their incendiary return, and thankfully in 2017 I was gifted with their debut album Primal Incinerators of Moral Matrix, an expansive, tyrannical foray into yet more uncharted waters.
Shedding their skin once more and reinventing themselves yet again, Tetragrammacide have delivered one of the most impressive Black/Death albums in recent memory, as it is every bit as primal as the name suggests and technical as the song titles hint at. And that really is what this album is about – a tremendous merging of the unrelenting, full throttle spirit displayed previously but spun into a new light(or darkness), as Tetragrammacide display a gratuity of well timed, well placed riffs that rip and shred the fabric of existence into a million pieces. This record is truly calculated barbarity at its finest and naysayers to the Tetragrammacide creed in the past, who cited lack of riffs, clarity, and song writing skills in general have been castrated and shamed, but not before turning their heads in astonishment at what the band has evolved into.
The Beast takes many shapes and many forms, and in this case, Tetragrammacide on their debut album descend upon your senses like inter-dimensional sonic terrorists not only possessing the Will to dismantle the obscene, malformed creation of the Demiurge, but the capability to do so as well. As “The Prognosticators of Trans-Yuggothian Meta-Reasoning” and “Radicalized Matrikavyeda Operation: Militarized Cosmogrids Destabilization (Heralding Absolute Contraction ) ” assail your innocence with a rapture of break neck blasting and destructive rhythms with dive bomb explosions ringing out in the midst of calculated chaos, the intent of these primal cosmic incinerators is plainly evident. And the contrast with their prior output couldn’t be more clear, as the instrumentation is remarkably well curated and designed to inflict maximum collateral damage in a way that is more understandable and yet, every bit as incomprehensible in force as anything put forward before from these madmen.

As you make your way through “Cyberserking Strategic Kalpa-Terminator (Advanced Acausality Increment Mechanism)” this experience comes into yet greater focus, as Tetragrammacide deploy a destructive spell that will incite uncontrollable headbanging to those ready to receive their message. As churning, crunching riffs pound the existential asphalt into dust and unleash barrage after barrage of coiling rhythms and odious orations inciting the rupture of all creation, the sickening, addictive nature of these hymns cannot be ignored, much like the taste of blood after the first kill.
And kill again and again you will, so to speak when “Intra-Dimensional Vessel of Were-Robotics, N-Logics and Assorted Lattice Intelligences” kicks into full gear after a brief intermission featuring what sounds like a beating heart holding onto its last ounce of vitality. Fitting, for “Intra-Dimensional…” is truly scorching, displaying a deadly prowess of searing guitar rhythms and ripping lead work that flays the very fabric of space time like a hot knife through butter before its abrupt end. And its there that “Meontological Marga of Misanthropic Computation & Extensive Backwards Physics” begins its impossibly ruthless show of might with an even greater show of velocity and technical workings, as one cannot help but simply be in awe throughout its 3:39 run time, particularly when the madness ceases and stops on a dime to usher in a truly nasty dissonant riff change out of left field that brings this song to its (il)logical conclusion.
But rounding out the action and one of the albums biggest highlights overall is “Imperial Cyanide Voltigeurs (Quantum Threshold Leapers of Hatha- Sorcery),” a metastasizing affair that properly encapsulates and contains all the attributes that make this record so great with underlying, subterranean riffs that weave their way into your subconscious, relentless, sprawling battery that puts most extreme metal drumming to shame, and volcanic lead work that erupts in such a manner that would make Trey Azagthoth proud. And at the end of it all we’re left with the ominous outro track consisting of archaic tribal sounds that evoke images of a time when Death was not only praised, but revered, and praised.
Indeed, with Primal Incinerators of Moral Matrix, Tetragrammacide have put forth a black work unlike any other in 2017, a work whose intensity will be matched by none, and whose seriousness is without question. Much like the incredibly unique, mind bending, automatically induced visuals that adorn its cover and inner notes, Tetragrammacide have channeled forth a work and spirit that is otherworldly, entirely outside the bounds of law and order, without master or limitation of any kind, a force of destruction completely primordial and free of karmic consequences; in short, an effort without equal, brought upon by dangerous conduits whose work will not be finished until the last vestige of Malkuth has been extinguished. This is not just music, it is an evocation that should be approached with extreme caution.
