Get Vanquished by the Crushing Black/Death Metal of WRAHHA ‘Harbingers of a Horrid Cleansing’ Full Demo Premiere

Tomorrow September 20 2024 AbArt Corruption and Sentient Ruin bring you the debut offering by Germany Black/Death Metal cult WRAHHA, 3 tracks of blistering violence and pulverizing cruelty which you can stream in full exclusively here a day ahead of release date:

Wrahha‘s debut demo tape Harbingers of a Horrid Cleansing is an ode to retribution, retaliation and mercilessness. The band hails from Leipzig, Germany, and cite the Nurnberg Trials as an example of what their music is all about: wiping out totalitarianism and all who oppose, to rebuild something new for all on top of it. Hence the title, Harbingers of a Horrid Cleansing, a manifesto of sorts, a warning and a message to all power-drunken tyrants, and that message is clear: all empires fall, one way or another, sooner or later, there is no rise to power without inevitable downfall. The release explores the concept of the abysmal consequences there are for unchecked desire for power, and the insane costs and human toll it usually brings with it, before its inevitable unravelling. And it’s all matter of how bloody and gruesome that downfall will be. How far will retribution reach, and what will be the extent of its cleansing? Wrahha offer a few cues: endless, bestial, merciless violence will be the only cure and payback to those who take the hoarding of power too far.

The band has recently emerged from another defunct German black/death metal weapon, Lihhamon. Around 2017 Lihhamon seemed set on a path for absolute world domination and this is predestination is exemplified in their insane debut (and sole) album “Doctrine”. Mysteriously however, the band folded shortly after its release, aborting a quest for European extreme metal domination that seemed evident and unquestionable. And now Wrahha has emerged from those ashes, carrying forth the torch of Lihhamon into the future to finish its work and transcend far and beyond to also assume its own identity of absolute inevitability.

These three shellshocking tracks in fact both re-enact and springboard from the abysmal violence of Lihhamon. In little over ten minutes the fabric of reality is torn and taken piece by piece in a blind and mindless assault that wrecks havoc on the senses. Comparisons to bands like Revenge, Death Worship, and Teitanblood are both obvious and too easy to go for, because what dwells within these three tracks is so much more than just the band’s belonging to a certain recognizable genre or style. There is all that, and then some. There is a fearlessness to the songwriting, and a clarity to the recording and to the riffs in this demo which reveals the band’s veteran origins and which is truly a rare merchandise to come about in the word of bestial extreme metal. And Wrahha pull it off marvelously putting the listener at the center of their music instead of just beating them over the head with it the sense of randomness and chaotic intelligibility that far too often characterizes (and limits) the genere. The production here on the other hand is dense and thick as concrete, yet crystal clear, showcasing the band’s riffs by the tonnage and exalting their wicked design and destructive skills with unseen clarity and vehemence.

The “Harbingers of a Horrid Cleansing” demo tape is out tomorrow September 20 2024 via AbArt Corruption in Europe (grab it HERE), and Sentient Ruin in America  (get it HERE or HERE).
