California’s CASTLE is one of the hardest working bands in the underground and always kicks out the jams non-stop. Unholy awesomeness – their new LP Deal Thy Fate is out now via Ripple Music and it really does ROCK! Today we are super excited to share with you their new video for their tune “Red Phantom.” The video was directed by longtime Castle collaborator Jaan Silmberg for Pistoltrixx Productions, who last worked with the band on their “Hammer And The Cross” and “Blacklands” videos. On Nov. 23rd, they kick off their West Coast tour, and you can peep the dates below.
The lyrics for Red Phantom are based on ‘Zodiac’ as seen through the lens of his adopted persona from Poe’s ‘Masque Of The Red Death’ and his infamous sign-off as ‘Red Phantom, red with rage’ from the 1969 “Red Phantom” letter. For the video, we projected imagery from the 1907 film ‘Le Spectre Rouge’ in reference to Rick Marshall, one of the main Zodiac suspects, who worked as a film projectionist in the Bay Area and had his own obsessions with the movie.” guitarist Mat Davis
