You know the zombies are after you as soon as you hear the first rotting notes of PETRIFICATION‘s debut demo tape Summon Horrendous Destruction, which Sentient Ruin will release on March 3 2017. This band seriously sounds like a mass grave coming to life to annihilate the living! Fans of old school rotting death metal in the vein of Autopsy, Nihilist, and of modern caveman death metal butchers like Disma, Cruciamentum, and Grave Miasma, can’t possibly miss this glorious slab of putrefying sonic death.
While showing a wide plethora of old school influences, Petrification have specifically set out on a deadly mission to recreate the ancestral and iconic sounds of Finnish Death Metal’s most prized tradition. Within the rotten heathen textures of their music you will in fact hear the unmistakeable character of Finnish Death Metal legends like Funebre, Abohorrence and Convulse climaxing into a glorious and gore-obsessed frenzy of decaying sonic rot and of punishing death metal chaos. Lyrically and sonically conjuring apparitions of giant, man-eating Arachnids and other horrors that lurk on the edge of the Void awaiting their victims, Petrification are a new band from Portland, OR who have seemingly set on a mission to reap endless havoc upon human ears with their toxic and scum-ridden music, and the “Summon Horrendous Destruction” demo tape stands as unquestionable proof of these intents.
Today we’re honored to bring you exclusively the first documentation of this band’s destructive craft in the form of the “Summon Horrendous Destruction” video – containing the title track from the band’s forthcoming demo tape. The Summon Horrendous Destruction demo tape can be pre-ordered now from Sentient Ruin on their Bandcamp or on their Store.
