MAI MAI MAI just released the most stunning music video of 2023, and it’s called “Nostalgia feat. Youmna Saba,” directed by the Mondoriviera collective. I’ve just sat, spellbound, through the 6-minute video, and I need to watch it again because I definitely went into some kind of electronics-induced trance. Mai Mai Mai’s intoxicating tones and the mesmerizing vocals from Youmna Saba completely took over my mental functions like some kind of glorious experiment on my braincells. There’s so much stillness and movement in a captivating, slow-motion dance between visuals and sounds. The track is off their album Rimorso out now via Maple Death Records — get it here.
