I take my kids to school this morning under a strange red sun, drop them off with all of us wearing masks, and then when I stop to get gas on the way home, the whole gas station, every pump and pillar, is covered in moths. So since it’s clear now we’re in the end times for humanity, I get home and throw on something dark and heavy. Something that will help me enjoy the surreal landscape of 2020 by lifting the crushing weight off my chest and putting it on my stereo instead. It’s Somnus Throne’s new single “Aetheronaut / Permadose” – an almost 15-minute slab of psychedelic doom that makes me pine for my stoned, slow-headbanging, smelly bar days. Before the moths landed on every surface. It’s off their s/t record via Burning World Records coming out on October 23rd – follow their Bandcamp to pre-order. If you’re where I’m at today and all you need is to be flattened by low-end, then hit play on our stream of “Aetheronaut / Permadose” right here:
