We see a lot of music videos here in the CVLT Nation HQ. So when one comes across my desk that has me riveted to the screen, unable to take my eyes off the visuals unfolding before me, I know it’s special. And it’s no surprise to me that this video for PRIMITIVE WEAPONS song “The Electric Drama” was directed by Zev Deans, because Zev always has something creative and interesting going on. The story these pictures tell just adds to the absolutely crushing sound of Primitive Weapons; it’s a testimony to the power of music as protest, with the live footage being layered with imagery of the ills and evils of authority – drone strikes, police brutality and modern warfare. Underground music in particular has been hugely influential on the public mind, asking people to refuse participation in a society that has us living under surveillance and the threat of violent punishment. Primitive Weapons communicate their message to us and we respond with strength and bravery! It’s kind of hard to adequately describe how awesome this video is, so I think you had better just watch it for yourself below!
