I’m not religious but I think about afterlife a lot. Especially after my mom died and came to me in a dream a month later telling me “I can’t come visit you very often, it’s like North Korea up here.” I was like, where the fuck is she??? She was happy and enjoying herself, but from my 3D world perspective that sounded alarming. Maybe North Korea isn’t that bad? Anyway, since then I think about where she went when her body let go of her. Listening to this dazzling shoegaze electronica made by Philadelphia’s full body 2, I can imagine that as she untethered herself from physicality, this was the fuzzy, warm, outergalactic soundtrack that was playing in whatever dimension she entered. I’m listening to their infinity signature EP — it came out last November and I’m just hearing it now, my bad. It’s a wildly uplifting experience for me, full of dreamy melodies, lasers and shattering glass, fuzzed-out riffs, shimmering beats, and twinkling lights. At times it’s pure dream pop, at others it’s shoegaze, and at others it’s drum & bass. full body 2 is tapping into a sound that could definitely send you into another world in another galaxy. If you haven’t checked them out already, listen to the magickal infinity signature EP here:
