The Satanic Temple, a religious organization not associated with the Church of Satan, has won a battle with the Florida State Capital building, and will be allowed to display their holiday diorama in the building’s rotunda. Last year, their “angel falling into flames” display was rejected by the state, who deemed it too offensive to be a part of their holiday displays, which included a diorama celebrating the Flying Spaghetti Monster. This year, the Satanic Temple put in their request again, but included with it backing from the Americans United for the Separation of Church and State, who threatened to sue the state if they rejected the Temple’s application. So, in true American fashion, the state responded to the threat of a lawsuit and approved the Satanic Temple’s display, which will be in its halls alongside Jesus and the Flying Spaghetti Monster wishing you a happy holiday from December 22nd to 29th in the Florida State Capital building. They’re still working on getting that Baphomet statue on the Oklahoma capital lawn though…
