When our descendants look back on the cultural expression of the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st, I wonder how they’ll characterize works like this one from Rorcal & Earthflesh? Scholars will sit down to listen to blackened doom churned through the utter audio destruction of noise and ruminate on the exploration of fear, pain, and depression they find within. I have no doubt they’ll look on us as a sick society. We’ve lost touch with the very earth we came from, we defamed the mother of all of us, we choose riches in exchange for the rape of our bodies, minds, and souls. Just as we look back on the witch trials, the inquisition, and the crusades with disbelief at the hatred and ignorance underlying the claims of divine wisdom and justice, centuries from now historians will talk about how our rampant corporate capitalism and desperate clinging to unbalanced masculine energy and white supremacist hierarchy left so many of us disenfranchised and lost. Videos like this one will speak to the fact that we weren’t unaware of it. Today we’re excited to share a snippet of Rorcal & Earthflesh blackened doom noise project entitled Witch Coven, which is out on April 2nd via Hummus Records – pre-order it here. It’s like opening a portal to the rotten place where we all hide our shadows. Hopefully, by opening it we let some light in. Right now, watch this sick video for “Witch Coven” by Chariot of Black Moth.
