I am a firm believer that art can be used as a weapon for social change – if we sit by watching fucked up shit happen, we are a part of the problem! Growing up in the 80’s, the fear of nuclear war and living under the Reagan regime made the punks of time stand against the social injustices that we all faced. Last week, Donald Trump became the 45th president of the USA, so this is a perfect time to say FUCK THE SYSTEM!!! I know I’m not alone in thinking that the shit has hit the fan – all you have to do is look at all of the marches against what Trump represents that have taken place globally. Oakland’s Bädr Vogu have made me proud, because late last week they released two new protest songs: “The Gasman Cometh (Fuck Trump)” and “Discordant Estates,” which they performed last week at the Dump Trump show in Oakland. For those that don’t know, CVLT Nation’s punk roots run deep and we are a 1000% ANTI TRUMP! Much respect due to Bädr Vogu for taking a stand! The struggle continues, and we will not give up the FIGHT!!!
