Premiere: RAW – I’m A Shell (But I’m Your Man) Video

In my opinion, one of the signs of ignorance is the inability to see the merit in a range of musical genres. If you tell me all you listen to is hardcore and you can’t stand anything else (same goes for you, black metal), I am not impressed by your loyalty. Good music is good music, and the best transcends genre. RAW from Calgary, AB, understand this well, and they pay homage to the darkness in our hearts and minds with music that spans everything from blues, to country, to psych, to black metal, with a little bit of grunge thrown in for good measure. The result is an addictive blend of whisky-soaked vocals and melancholy riffs, and I don’t know what to call it, but I’m digging it! Today we’re stoked to share with you RAW’s video for their track “I’m A Shell (But I’m Your Man)” off of their debut album From The First Glass To The Grave. The album comes out June 10th in EuropeJuly 15th in Asia and August 12th in North America, and the worldwide pre-order is here from label Aural Music. Check out their disturbing video for “I’m A Shell (But I’m Your Man)” right here and now…

Meghan MacRae grew up in Vancouver, Canada, but spent many years living in the remote woods. Living in the shadow of grizzly bears, cougars and the other predators of the wilderness taught her about the dark side of nature, and taught her to accept her place in nature's order as their prey. She is co-founder of CVLT Nation.

I can see ‘merit’ in whatever I feel like, not at the command of being ‘diverse’. I am similarly unimpressed by people who say they enjoy a wide variety of genres for the sake of doing so.

Shit like this is why I love Cvlt Nation. I can always come here to find something that I would never hear otherwise, but completely kicks ass. This definitely deserves far more attention than it’s gotten, and I’m so happy that you guys are helping to bring it to a wider audience. For the past 2 years, at least half of my albums of the year have come from discoveries on this site. I know that this whole post probably sounds super dumb and sappy, but I don’t care, don’t ever stop doing what you do. This band fucking rocks and so do you!
