B.T.K. Serial Killer Self Portraits & Crime Scene Photos

Ever since I was young, I’ve had a fascination with serial killers and their histories. When they strike close to home, it can be a pretty scary thing. I dealt with the fear of being a victim of a serial killer while I lived in Georgia as a youngster. From the summer of 1979 to 1981, over 27 young black males were killed in the Atlanta area. I was terrified I’d be one of them.

What I learned from the Atlanta case is that these kinds of killers don’t look like monsters, but actually look like everyday Joes. Case in point – Dennis Rader, aka B.T.K., who from 1974 to 1991 killed 10 people in the Wichita, Kansas area. He held jobs for the city, like supervisor of the Compliance Department at Park City. In the past, I watched documentaries about his crimes and his victims, but it wasn’t until recently that I actually looked at photos. When I look at the pictures below, I feel like I’m looking at the work of a truly evil subhuman, who has no conscience or love for humanity.

UNDATED FILE PHOTOS NO SALES. @*@* FILE @*@* Eight of the 10 people whose deaths have been linked by authorities to the BTK serial killer are shown in undated file photos. In the top row are, from left, Joseph Otero and his wife, Julie Otero; Kathryn Bright; and Shirley Vian. In the bottom row are, from left, Nancy Fox,_Marine Hedge, Vicki Wegerle and Dolores Davis. Rader pleaded guilty Monday to 10 counts of first-degree murder, admitting in a chillingly matter-of-fact voice to a series of slayings that terrorized the city beginning in the 1970s.
