Donald “Pee Wee” Gaskins, the 5’4″ serial killer who was also known as “The Meanest Man in America,” is suspected for the murder of over 100 people, mainly young hitchhikers and children. He drove a hearse, often telling people he needed it to haul bodies to his private cemetery. Gaskins killed his daughter’s 13-year-old friend, Kim, and his 15-year-old niece, Janice. He murdered and assaulted his 23 year old neighbor — and her 2 year old baby — because she was in an interracial relationship. He murdered his nephew and his brother in law. He is one of the most horrifically depraved and violent serial killers I’ve come across yet — he called himself a vampire, and is considered a sexual sadist and psychopath. Gaskins confessed a lot of his crimes to his daughter Shirley, who’s testimony was instrumental in his conviction, when he was sentenced to the death penalty. He was electrocuted to death on September 6, 1991. Good riddance.
His “process” of rape, torture, and murder was described by Gaskins as a “vision” into the “bothersome feelings” he experienced throughout his life. Satisfying these feelings became his driving force in life. He mastered the skill of torture, often keeping his injured victims alive for days. Sometimes he would cannibalize their severed body parts and either make them watch him eat them in horror or join in the eating.
