More than just a musical project, LUNACY is a visual and auditorial experience. I once stated about this dystopian shadow figure, “When you hear this music, you realize the true power of sound and how something fluid and fragile can be so heavy. LUNACY is sonic art that is truly transcendental. ” Now he is about to continue his story with the release of Echo In The Memory that comes out in April 2022 via Dedstrange.
Today I’m beyond happy to announce LUNACY’s new single and visual “Dust” that reaches earth on September 21st, 2021 via Dedstrange. On Sept. 29th, LUNACY will embark on a national tour. I just want to say how special this experience of otherworldly sound is to me. Not only does the music of this dystopian shadow figure expand my mind, but when I listen to any of his music I feel sensations washing over my whole reality!
“Dust” is the first single from rural Pennsylvania’s dystopian shadow figure LUNACY. Featuring single art & text from Jesse Draxler, “‘Dust” explores themes of starting over while being reminded of the past that’s constantly following behind & never seems to leave. The song highlights Lunacy’s genre bending, holding a reminiscent character to what’s familiar while harnessing something completely unique. LUNACY
“Echo In The Memory” marks a new chapter for LUNACY’s sonic annihilation centered around trying to rebuild a world that no longer exists. Previous works have been recorded on a 4- track Tascam Portastudio using various analog single unit drum machines, guitar, bass and synths. On this upcoming release the recording process has changed quite a bit. Echo In the Memory was recorded on an Otari Broadcast MX50/50 – a 4 track 1/4 inch tape machine brought back to life by Sean Hur. All backing tracks, drum samples & loops were produced on an all black MPC1000 except, “Fragmented Pulse” which used the classic DR-55 with an 8/12 bitcrusher fuzz pedal handmade by Kyle Reiff. Both analog & digital synths were used along with guitar & bass with various effects pedals. LUNACY
