Until KNOCKED LOOSE’s new album You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To, I did not know that a Hardcore album could make me this happy! If I had to pick the best HC record of 2024 today, this exercise in sonic brutality would be it, hands motherfucking down! Every anthem on this affair is a seething audio river of feral destructive rage that is highly addictive and ultra enjoyable on so many levels. I can’t help but lose my shit as I blast “Don’t Reach For Me,” the breakdowns are bone crushing while the lyrics make reflect on the toxic relationships I have encountered in my life time.

It’s the tones of empathy in between their maniacal storms of chaos that allows my mind to even immerse myself more into their music. Vocally, Knocked Loose is gnarly AF and I can’t get enough of their vocal delivery and direction. On the musical tip, this band is able to perfectly weave Hardcore with almost an industrial-infected sound that hits hard as a Texas-fed linebacker! Unholy mayhem, their song “Blind Faith” is a pummelling hymn that questions organized religion.

I want this band to know that I’m a huge fucking fan and that songs like “Sit & Mourn” will be a part of my reality for life. Knocked Loose has knocked a whole other sense of radness into the Hardcore Scene globally. If I had to buy one HC record this year, You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To out NOW on Pure Noise Records) would be it!
