I grew up with the story of woman’s sinful thirst for knowledge. I was told many times as a child how the first mother had chosen herself, her intuition, over the simple pleasures of Eden. How she’d corrupted man, who was happy to live in complete trust of his father’s guidance, with the lure of individual power. My child’s mind already loved to learn, and I struggled with the idea that there was only one book that should hold authority over all others in my life, that there was one way to be, one story to believe, and all other paths led to Hell. Incarceration celebrates that individual journey, that unfolding of inner wisdom, that innate trust in our individual divinity that’s put so many of my foremothers into their violent early graves. “Psychic Totality” expresses a rage that can only come from the centuries of mental and physical oppression that organized religion has used to maintain control over minds, bodies, and wallets. With hideously raw and violating sounds, it calls on forces that are found within us and within everything to lay waste to the false promises of salvation and absolution in exchange for servitude. The concept of Empiricism deals with our personal journey towards the inevitable and all therein that may be explored. A catalyst from the depths of the subconsciousness. Through conquest and manifestation of the mind inside a dying vessel, we want to strengthen the passion and willpower in the here and now. It is a monumental Fragment that reflects our pilgrimage into the nucleus of our individual existence.
