Feel the Raw Punk Fear of Sleepless Nights on KNIVAD “Sömnlösa nätter”

I’ve lain awake, heart thundering, darkness closing in, breath short, mind and body terrorized. Knowing in the back of my mind that my body is reliving trauma from another era of my life, but not knowing how to send the feelings back to the time they originally manifested. That’s the experience KNIVAD is describing in their track “Sömnlösa nätter,” drowning in fear and praying for survival when there’s no present danger outside of your own body. The track is off their record Insidans Ärrvävnad out now via Suicide Records, and today we’re stoked to be sharing the video for it with you!

[Translated lyrics]

“Sömnlösa nätter” – Sleepless nights

River out the leaves from the black book
Which I got to hide my memories

But those were just memories of what disappeared
I know it’s over, that everything’s over
And I can no longer breathe
The image becomes clear in the black depths
It totally crushes me on nights like this
Nights like this one you learn to pray to god
Nights like this
Nights like this one you have to learn to fear God

It’s somewhere between falling asleep and waking up
As it beats its claws in my heart
Penetrates, gnaws and destroys
Everything that is about why we are here
Trying to think of the comfort, that anxiety can not kill
Nights like this one you learn to pray to god
Nights like this
Nights like this one you have to learn to fear God
