Today I’m going to let y’all in on a secret: TAKH has manifested one of my favorite records of 2023, straight UP! This special sonic offering will be released on May 15th via the always-on-point Consouling Sounds. This band’s music puts me in a state of meditation and makes me look deep into myself. TAKH’s music is a perfect balance between the celestial audio atmosphere that can’t be explained and the primal energy that exists in us all! It’s beyond awesome that Bobby Cochran and the band have decided to work together on the new visual “Salomonne.” Don’t sleep on TAKH, this band is FIRE!
TAKH found its origin back in 2015 when The black heart rebellion invited Annelies Van Dinter as a guest musician on the record ‘people when you see the smoke ‘. A common love for doom and gloom, together with the raw approach of music that wrenches the soul, makes them write new music together. Inspired by the likes of Swans, Low or Woven Hand, they challenge themselves to focus on pure intensity, not shunning the experiment and questioning what truly moves them in life. Their self-titled debut album will be released on Consouling Sounds records on May 12th.
About one year ago we received an email from Bobby, with the question if we were interested in a collaboration to do some kind of short movie/movie clip. We knew Bobby from his work with Amenra and Chelsea Wolfe.
We continue to find it important to surround ourselves with inspiring people, to be able to constantly adjust our own vision, so our collaboration took off quickly.
“Today we launch part one of this collaboration, a short movie for the song ‘Salomonne’, the opening track of the album. The music and the movie focuses on the theme of escape, dreams and nightmares. Footage alternates between reverse and forward motion, to create tension between the pursued and pursuer. The video culminates with a focus on one particular person. This person somehow falls victim to whatever is chasing them
