The Cure is a band that has a special place in our hearts, nestled alongside music of many different genres heavy, melancholy and light. So when we got the news that Mort Subite (Megaton Leviathan, Vaital Deul, Alfheimr) and Martti Hill (Barrowlands), alongside Billy Anderson and Rob Vikernes, had put together a tribute to this iconic band that melded their love of The Cure and black metal, and called it CUREZUM, we knew we had to share it with the world. Today we’re happy to bring you the two singles from their forthcoming full length A Monument to a Ruined Age, “One Hundred Years” and “The Top.” What you’ll hear below is a beautiful evolution of sounds you know and love, turning them from anthems of sadness and longing into scathing attacks of hatred and cold fury! In other words, it sounds awesome! A Monument to a Ruined Age will also feature guest performances from some of Portland’s underground metal masters, so pre-order your digital copy here and cassette here…and listen to these two sick tracks below!
