In 1982, the original Goth club opened in London’s SoHo, organized by members of the dark and glamorous Specimen, and they called it The Batcave. The club was attended by nearly every deathrock and post-punk musician in the country at the time, including Robert Smith of The Cure, members of Siouxsie and the Banshees, Nick Cave, and Ian Astbury of Southern Death Cult. This 1983 documentary presents a startling melange of images and imaginations.
