Over the course of 2022, A PREGNANT LIGHT released ten singles that have now been compiled into a new cassette entitled Capacity For Living, along with two previously unreleased songs. These songs tell a blackened hardcore-gaze story of one man’s life in one year that’s sonically captivating—it’s melodic, rhythmic, and scathing all at once. And I need to give A PREGNANT LIGHT props on the lyrics; the delivery is blistering, but they read like poetry, emotive and darkly funny. The cassette is out now via Colloquial Sound Recordings — get it here. Right now we’re stoked to share the video for “Eating Emeralds” directed by Thomas D. Rotenberg, and check out the album streaming below…
In the video I sort of play a pseudo catholic cult leader marking up these followers with purple paint. Think Waco meets Jim Jones meets metalpunk. Indoctrinating them into the cult of purple metal.

Thank you to Tom for his vision and execution and allowing me to fulfill my lifelong dream of being a cult leader.
