Førtifem is a French team of graphic designers composed of Adrien Havet and Jessica Daubertes, and they are extremely talented and I’ve wanted to share their work for a long time. I took interest in them just after watching a show of Direwolves where I bought one of their LP’s; it turned out that some cards were offered with the vinyl, cards that expanded the graphic universe of the record, as each of them represented a song. They were a perfect example of the kind of art style I loved, so I did some research and I found the name Førtifem.
I am not a graphic designer and I draw like a blind man, so I am not an authority on their work, but I just love the way their drawings are full of details without overwhelming the whole thing. I found a strong esoteric force in their universe, and a clever way of using occult signs, like a goat or a devilish head, without making it a caricature.
Today they do artwork for a lot of great bands, work with great labels (they did the graphic universe of Throatruiner Records) and they have expanded their market with works for Jägermeister or Canal+ (a French TV channel). Here is some of their work, but I highly recommend that you check out their full portfolio on their website, and maybe buy a shirt.
