New Third World Order: Get CRUSHED by the Dystopian Industrial Death-Doom of NECROTECH – “Necrotechnology” Full EP Premiere

Cyber-dystopias, rogue industrialization, environmental collapse, surveillance capitalism…. The new world lurking ahead is a dark, grim and hopeless place and some bands see it clear as day light. Particularly those coming from the “second world”, or from countries like Brazil where infrastructure modernization from the globalized northern hemisphere still contrasts the grim post-colonial reality of slums, hyper-crime, corruption and deviant capitalism, keeping nations perpetually torn between worlds and taking the best aspects of none of them. Don’t worry, we’re headed there fast as well, as the social divide across the northern hemisphere worsens and class friction intensifies, making the message of these bands as relevant and ominous as rarely before. One such band is São Paulo’s NECROTECH, who’ve unleashed a grim edict of implacable cyber-terrorism. Behold their absolutely crushing debut EP “Necrotechnolgy” streaming in full for the first time ever exclusively right here:

“Necrotechnolgy” harkens straight back to the incipit and glory days of industrialized audial oppression, when bands like Godflesh, Pitchshifter and Spine Wrench were seeking new ways to move beyond their squat and punk roots to further voice and express the utter alienation and disillusion that was saturating Margaret Tatcher’s 80’s UK with unprecedented heights of social strife and class abuse. Heavy metal and punk hence were fused with the reality-detaching experimentalism of Throbbing Gristle and SWANS, and a new legacy was created to cope with a new reality where crushing and dissonant riffs coming from early grind and anarcho-punk and mechanical dehumanized rhythms were conjoined into a sonic revolution that would become legendary and widely imitated to this day.

But do not make the mistake to think that Necrotech are merely replicating a familiar style. Rather, they are advancing it. “Necrotechnolgy” in fact fills an empty niche and expands the style into a realm of industrial metal suffocation rarely seen before. The members’ love for Godflesh and Nailbomb set the stepping stone, but it’s their long running history in Brazil’s crust, stench and death metal underground scenes that did the rest. Influences from Deviated Instinct‘s and Bolt Thrower‘s stench-infused neck-snapping megaton riffs and from Apshyx‘s slow, agonizing dirges came adding ulterior burden and oppressiveness to their music, ultimately yielding and encompassing beast that is equally crushing just as it is dark and inescapable. Just endure the catastrophic violence of “Deadly Industries” or the the eight-plus minutes of the colossal closing track “Hateful Spectacle of Intolerance” to judge for yourself if this band’s hasn’t just harnessed the ultimate realm of dystopian cyber terror and of total industrial metal suffocation.

“Necrotechnolgy” releases officially tomorrow Friday January 17 2025 via Sentient Ruin worldwide (get it HERE or HERE).
