I write this from a place of blissful pain! I write this knowing that a band like Vorare will always create from a place of Blackened Passion that only pushes them to higher heights! If VORARE was trying to create and all-encompassing sense of existential anxiety and dread when they recorded “Ocean of Misery,” they succeeded. This is music that commands my full attention, sucking me into a vortex of sonic unease that threatens to turn into sheer terror as each soundwave ripples into my ears. This avant garde drone doom/death industrial duo shows no mercy for the listener on this track, instead they’re reaching into the depths of the twisted human mind to pull out our hidden selves. Crushing doesn’t do this song justice; mangled static emanating from the abyss is more like it.
