I’ve got a thing for bad taxidermy. I think it’s the confused, sad, and frustrated looks on the animals’ faces, but I find it as horrifying and blasphemous as I do hilarious. Why do human beings think we’re better than every other being in nature again? Is it because we can take a gorgeous creature, butcher it, and then reassemble it…badly? Looking at these eternally suffering beings, I feel like NPD must be a fundamental trait of humanity when it comes to how we interact with other living things on this planet. I ask you again — what other animal does this??? Okay, now that thought has me imagining a world where lions curate exhibits of grimacing, moosh-faced human stuffies doing things humans do. That would be amazing, but alas, we don’t live in that alternate universe. This is the universe we live in:
