This band hits all the right ghoulish notes when it comes to the genre, equal parts melodic, warm, ominous, and menacing. Unlike so many records that come out today, Witchthroat Serpent recorded Trove of Oddities at the Devil’s Driveway entirely in analog, which accounts for the hairs standing up on the back of my neck, triggered by the tangible sounds they’ve laid down. They’ve incorporated noise elements that take their melodic doom to the next circle of Hell.
