Boothaeven’s Magazine IG
Would CVLT Nation exist without the Punk Zines like MRR, Flipside, or Ink Disease? The answer is NO, because these publications linked me to the world of Hardcore punk outside of my hood. Remember, I’m talking about in the ’80s, way before the internet, so their importance to the underground can’t really be put into words. People who were a part of these zines were forerunners in DIY photography, graphic design, and music journalism.
Now in 2021, we have this really cool zine called Boothaeven’s Magazine carrying on the DIY spirit. I love the Xerox look of this zine, it’s taking me back to the 80’s, real talk. Also, this publication’s curation because some of my favorite bands from around the world are featured in each issue. Don’t even get me started on the Boothaeven’s Magazine layout, which is spot ON! I also dig the two options they give to cop it. You can download it for free or buy a physical copy. Right now, I want to salute everyone who makes this magazine a reality, Big UP Yourself. Punk is not Dead, it’s a living energy!
