So much of this pandemic has been me realizing where I’ve been wasting my energy, my thoughts, and my person. There’s so much I’ve discovered about my own mind that I couldn’t see because of the bullshit I was filling my days with – endless errands, empty consumerism, hiding myself for other people’s benefit or for my own protection. I’ve been doing away with all that and finding that I never needed any of it. What I need right now is magic, and that’s what the electronica/drone of Mansur aims to bring us. With a wealth of instruments, this project taps into the vibrations that we can’t perceive without opening sonic portals into our multidimensional reality. If transcendence is what you’re into, they’ve got a new album entitled TEMPLE out now, and you can order it on the Denovali Records webshop, Bandcamp, or Spotify. Today we’re excited to be sharing this breathtaking video for the track “Disciples” – I’m definitely going to have to watch this again under the influence of a mind-altering substance so that I can fully appreciate where it’s taking my consciousness. Enjoy this reality-melting video for “Disciples” below:
Using kalimba, violin, cello, ney, erhu, zhonghu, jinhu, kemenche, dilruba, bansuri, rammerdam, double bass and various percussive instruments such as cajon, castanets, krotal and various organic shakers and drums MANSUR leads the listener into mystical and magical unknowns, that lie far past the realms of material perception.
